The ‘reforesting’ of 18th & Columbia Rd. Replacing dead trees & stumps, and filled empty tree pits. Phase II is more trees and creating new tree pits (w/ a tree) where concrete has been overlayed. Phase I Complete with 30 new trees.

- Adams Morgan Spruce-Up Volunteers — It's time to spruce up one of the city's fave hot spots!
Volunteers are needed for the 4th annual Adams Morgan Summer Spruce-Up, which will be held on Saturday, July 22nd from 9:30AM – 2:30PM. Last year's event was a success so you are invited to please join
the Adams Morgan Main Street Group in street clean-up and green-up
of our trees. Your time and assistance is valuable. Get together with friends, co-workers, neighbors and make new
friends to clean up in the neighborhood! If you can join to make a difference, give us a call on 202-232-1960. Looking forward to seeing you there!
- Re-Forest Project — 35 new trees for Adams Morgan. July 22, 2006 More to come . Help us inventory, coordinate with Casey Trees and DC Greenworks. Adopt-A-Tree! - Respect AM — Coordinate with BID. Summer Spruce-Up July 22, 2006. Annual Summer Spruce-Up, Tree Pit Prep and aeration.
- Bike Racks Project — Complete. Click here for: Pictures. Thanks to volunteer team of Euan Fisk of City Bikes, Johnny Andrade of Asylum, Brian Harrison of The Reef, Eric Gill of WABA, Completed plan for installation of new bike racks by looking at business district and adjacent areas as a whole, based on pedestrian and bike patterns.
- Art Deco Façade (Gateway) project — Underway. Art Deco Renovation and streetscape improvements for IGA building area. Value-added details such as new trees, art deco details, exterior improvements. [Christine Brooks, Linda Ingram, and Steve Pinkus]
- Llorente Park ( 7-11 Triangle ) — Located Columbia Rd/19th St & Wyoming. Formally named for former ANC Commr. Carolyn Llorente on Plan includes new design(anti-rat), cherry trees, low plantings and landscapings, antique benches, additional litter cans, bus stop enhancement, and thematic design elements. FUTURE:
- Unique Tree Grate Project — Goals: Reclamation of pedestrian and walkable space; cleanable, more sanitary, trash-resistant surface; and business district definition . Goal is “unique” but mass produced & liability- tested grate design; environmental preparation and installation. Key component is soil aeration and protection to safeguard existing and newly planted trees.
- 18th St Alleys. Reclaiming the 18th St alleys —
Exciting plans for historic “Dance Alley ( 18th St {West}) Plan for doing 3- Dimensional alley art and mural. Painting the rear alley exteriors, eliminating graffiti, lighting. [Brian Harrison subcommittee chair] 18th St Alley(East) Immediate focus is on trash consolidation.
