MetroRail stations (Subway)
Four stations are each about a 5-minute walk to the edge of Adams Morgan and a 15-minute walk or short bus ride to the heart of the neighborhood; walking directions are to 18th and Columbia on the north or 18th and Florida on the south:

• Woodley Park/Zoo/Adams Morgan (Red Line) - from top of escalator:
  Bus: L2 McPherson Square stops across 24th St. to right of escalator, 98 Adams Morgan-U Street Link (25¢, 6 p.m.-3 a.m.) stops on Connecticut Ave. to left of escalator
  Walk: Straight on Connecticut Ave. to corner, left on Calvert St. to Adams Mill Rd., bear right to Columbia Rd. NW

• U Street/Cardozo (Green Line) - from 13th and U Sts. exit:
  Bus: 90, 92, 93 McLean Gardens, 96 Duke Ellington Bridge, 98 Adams Morgan-U Street Link (25¢. 6 p.m.-3 a.m.), X3 McLean Gardens, all stop on far side of U St.
  Walk: Straight on U St. to 18th St. NW

• Columbia Heights (Green Line) - from exit on west side of 14th St.:
  Bus: H1 Potomac Park (AM rush only) stops at 14th St. and Columbia Rd. one block south of Metro exit; or walk straight ahead (west) on Irving St. two blocks, cross Mt. Pleasant St. and take 42 Farragut Square/Metro Center
  Walk: U turn back to 14th St., right one block to Columbia Rd., right to 18th St. NW

• Dupont Circle (Red Line) - from Q St. exit:
  Bus: 42 Mt. Pleasant stops across Connecticut Ave.
  Walk: Right on Q St., left on far side of Connecticut, right on Florida Ave. to 18th St,
  or take Conn. Ave till bear right on Columbia Rd. to 18th St. NW

PARKING

Parking in the daytime in Adams Morgan is not very difficult, as there are usually ample on-street spaces. The Colonial Parking Garage is located at 2421 18th Street covered parking, but it fills quickly on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. Parking is scarce on Friday and Saturday evenings. Taxicabs are preferred.

  • Colonial Parking at Woodley Park: 5-minute walk from Adams Morgan, right near the Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan metro stop. Building's address is 2519 Conn. Ave, Enter on south side of Calvert.
    Hours: Monday - Saturday: 7AM - Midnight, Sunday: 7AM - 10 PM

  • Universal Garage: (Enter on "T" Street between Conn Ave. and Florida Ave.)

• Parking Meters: On-street parking: many streets in Adams Morgan have "multispace meters": instead of a meter at each space, there is one meter for several spaces. These green meters have a "P" on the side. The driver can pay with change or credit card, then print a small receipt to place on the dashboard indicating how long they are allowed to park there.
