MetroRail stations (Subway)
Four stations are each about a 5-minute walk to the edge of Adams Morgan and a 15-minute walk or short bus ride to the heart of the neighborhood; walking directions are to 18th and Columbia on the north or 18th and Florida on the south:

· Woodley Park/Zoo/Adams Morgan (Red Line)

· U Street/Cardozo (Green Line) - from 13th and U Sts  Walk: Straight on U St. to 18th St. NW

· Columbia Heights (Green Line) - from exit on west side of 14th St.: Walk: U turn back to 14th St., right one block to Columbia Rd., right to 18th St. NW

· Dupont Circle (Red Line) - from Q St. exit:  Walk: Right on Q St., left on far side of Connecticut, right on Florida Ave. to 18th St, or take Conn. Ave till bear right on Columbia Rd. to 18th St. NW

PARKING

Parking in the daytime in Adams Morgan is not very difficult, as there are usually ample on-street spaces. The Colonial Parking Garage is located at 2421 18th Street provides covered parking, but it fills quickly on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. Parking is scarce on Friday and Saturday evenings. Taxicabs are preferred. The following are local Parking Garages

The Park at Adams Morgan is a convenient parking facility located on the southern edge of Adams Morgan at 1711 Florida Ave., NW, one block east of the intersection of 18th Street and California Street. Monthly rates with 24 hour access: regular permit-$185; Reserved Permit - $370. Weekday Early Bird (in by 10am) $9 all day! Mon-Thurs eves (5pm-Midnite):1 Hour or less:$4.00; Max:$8.00. Fri & Sat eves (5pm till’ 4am) $14.00 Flat Hours of Ops: Mon-Thurs (6:00am-Midnight), Fri (6:00 am-4:00am), Sat (12:00 pm-4:00am) Closed Sun, (except for monthlies and special events).

Parking Meters: On-street parking: many streets in Adams Morgan have "multispace meters": instead of a meter at each space, there is one meter for several spaces. These green meters have a "P" on the side. The driver can pay with change or credit card, then print a small receipt to place on the dashboard indicating how long they are allowed to park there.

Talk is Cheap and so is Parking

Cheap day-time parking is available in Adams Morgan, 7 days a week! NOW anyone can park in the Colonial Parking garage (2328 Champlain Street NW remember access is from 18th Street, NW just north of the intersection with Belmont Road, NW) for up to 4 hours for only $6.00. All tickets must be validated by the business.  This deal is available until 5 PM, every day of the week. You must be out of the garage by 5 PM when regular rates will apply.
